SPP Regions

The project SPP Regions, financed by the programme Horizon 2020, supports the implementation of sustainable public procurement (SPP) activities through boosting closer regional co-operation between public authorities, establishing a structured European exchange, embedding SPP training within professional procurement training programmes.
Specifically, the project will:
•        Support the development of regional SPP networks, with a lead authority providing direct tendering assistance to other public bodies in the region and organising regional networking meetings – each region will launch a minimum of 6 SPP/PPI tenders
•        Setting up a regular programme of European SPP roundtables for best practice exchange on key topics related to the new Procurement Directives (e.g. life cycle costing, market engagement, risk management for PPI, contract management and monitoring, and the use of ecolabels/standards)
•        Developing new training material and guidance based on this best practice exchange
•        Developing strong links with procurement training institutions (such as universities, academies, professional associations), to embed SPP training in regular programmes
